  • Support novel product design by gaining and applying a deep understanding of current and future product application needs through intimate knowledge of currently and future end-user needs.
  • Act as the technology business partner to a wide variety of functions, including formulation chemists, agronomists, biologists, and product development teams.
  • Engaging in early product development by systematically identifying and promoting value adding application technology opportunities.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of technology development across all aspects of application technology, e.g. via external academic collaborations, to enable an effective implementation of new technologies into Syngenta product offers.
  • Provide application technical expertise to support best evaluation of development products across the global field station network and collaborate with internal and external application technology experts.
  • Provide training concepts and materials on application technology for internal and external use.
  • Proactively identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the safety, sustainability, and efficiency of our processes.

Qualifications

  • You have a university degree, masters and/or Ph.D. in an appropriate scientific area such as agronomy, biology, agricultural engineering with a good understanding of agronomic practices, crop protection, and application technology.
  • You bring a sound experience in a technical position in the agronomy/biology or formulation technology and/or product application functions.
  • You have experience in theory and practice of application technology in lab and/or field trialing of crop protection products.
  • You have experience working across critical interfaces (including biology, in-market technical support team, formulation chemists and other functions) and ability to maintain a strong network of contacts within key stakeholders.
  • You have the ability to lead technical projects with credibility and empathy, maintaining a balance between local needs and issues while remaining connected to broader regional or global developments.
  • You thrive working in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and highly international environment.
  • You are curious, pro-active and a very strong team-worker, with excellent communication and interested in team management.
  • You are fluent in English and have fluency in, or willingness to learn, German. Additional languages are always an advantage in our global business environment.

You will be in the hub of an international network of agronomists, chemists, engineers, and regulators to meet our customer demands in the safest, most efficient, and most sustainable way to ensure our products are being applied following optimal recommendations. You will be part of a highly experienced technical team and collaborate with product development teams across Europe as well as globally.
