Principal Scientist - Application Technology

You will help shape the future of agriculture by:

• Collaborating with application and other technical experts to design and develop new innovative products for mainly EAME to protect the crops that feed us.
• Providing technical application expertise to cross-functional teams, identifying opportunities to add value, and leveraging product sustainability with business partners.
• Designing, planning, and leading experimental work programs to explore, research, and understand spray application effectivity and efficiency of our products with conventional and precision application spray systems.
• Innovating in the areas of new application technologies.
• Driving the understanding of real customer use practices in applying our products and directing a safe, sustainable, and efficient application of our products using your technical expertise.
• Validating data to ensure our products are suitable and fit for customer use practices for current and future spray technologies.
• Working in partnership with local and global teams.

• Support novel product design by gaining and applying a deep understanding of current and future product application needs through intimate knowledge of current and future end-user needs.
• Act as the technology business partner to a wide variety of functions, including formulation chemists, agronomists, biologists, and product development teams.
• Engaging in early product development by systematically identifying and from value-adding application technology opportunities.
• Maintain a detailed understanding of technology development across all aspects of application technology, e.g. via external academic collaborations, to enable effective implementation of new technologies into Syngenta product offers.
• Provide application technical expertise to support the best evaluation of development products across the global field station network and collaborate with internal and external application technology experts.
• Provide training concepts and materials on application technology for internal and external use.
• Proactively identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the safety, sustainability, and efficiency of our processes.

As an Application Technology Expert in the Application Technology group, you will play a pivotal role in enabling an effective and convenient spray application of our new products, from the laboratory to field scale as well as driving the assessment and development of new technologies in this area. You will be in the hub of an international network of agronomists, chemists, engineers, and regulators to meet our customer demands in the safest, most efficient, and most sustainable way to ensure our products are being applied following optimal recommendations.
