Pension Schemes Manager - UK & Ireland

 

Are you an experienced pension professional looking for a challenging role? Syngenta is seeking a Manager of our Pension Schemes  to oversee our UK & Ireland pension arrangements.

In this pivotal position, you'll:

• Act as the key liaison between the Company and Trustee Board

• Manage governance frameworks and ensure regulatory compliance

• Contribute to  strategic and manage operational aspects of pension schemes

• Provide expert secretariat support to the Trustee Board

• Manage the Service delivered through 3rd party service providers

Monitor pension performance and manage budgets

• Engage with stakeholders and communicate complex issues clearly

 

You'll navigate a complex legislative environment, balancing technical expertise with strategic thinking. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and compliance of our pension schemes.

Essential experience/qualifications

  • Educated to degree level with a relevant professional qualification e.g. PMI, APMI, Actuarial, Legal or similar
  • Extensive experience in pension management and governance including a thorough understanding of the UK pension regulatory environment
  • In-depth knowledge of pension law, scheme administration and governance best practice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to a range of audiences
  • Proven track record of successful project management including the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to lead and manage an administrative team
  • Strong IT capabilities

 

Desirable experience/qualifications

  • Experience in managing 3rd party pension service providers
  • An understanding of UK & Irish Pension Legislation
  • An established network within the pensions industry

Additional Information

The role will involve meetings primarily in central London locations and therefore proximity to our Guildford office is ideal, on a hybrid basis.  However, for the right candidate this could be based across the UK, either remotely or on a hybrid basis from one of our UK sites. There will be ad-hoc travel as necessary (less than 20%).
