Job description

The Packaging Procurement Manager will manage a team of three Packaging Category Managers, overseeing strategic procurement activities for Syngenta in the EAME region. This role involves developing and coaching team members, driving budgeted savings, and implementing value-adding projects. The manager will actively participate in cross-functional initiatives, contribute to global packaging strategies, and create and implement the EAME Packaging vision. Key responsibilities include supporting Syngenta's sustainability goals, managing supply risks, ensuring compliance with procurement tools, and continuously improving work processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, strategic thinking abilities, and experience in packaging procurement within the agricultural or related industries.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Develop and execute regional/global sourcing strategies based on spend analysis and market insights
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across EAME to align sourcing priorities and communicate strategies
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver substantial savings through strategic contracts and agreements
  • Identify best practices, develop benchmarks, and drive continuous improvement in purchasing processes
  • Lead and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence and ethical practices
  • Drive sustainable sourcing initiatives and oversee EAME Regional Packaging strategies, with special consideration for Russia and South Africa

Qualifications and required experience

  • Solid commercial experience in a procurement environment
  • Demonstrated success working in multicultural and cross-functional team settings
  • Strong project management skills with ability to work independently and maintain high accuracy
  • Proven strategic influencing capabilities and data analysis skills from diverse sources
  • Experience in setting aligned team objectives and inspiring creative, high-performance teams
  • Proficiency in risk management and ability to navigate uncertain business environments
