You will help shape the future of agriculture by: 

  • Support processes of the Operation’s 
  • Responsible for the planning and the execution of the daily and weekly activities
  • Ensuring labor activates are done timely and in accordance with all processes and procedures, as well as ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met
  • Leading teams of employees responsible for different activities
  • Ensuring that all processes all done efficiently and effectively and in accordance with all Syngenta HSES regulations
     

Accountabilities  

  • Achieves results through their direct reporting staff, by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to breakdowns within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow to Management
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all HSE standards, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the management (creation and modification) of W.O.W.s’ associated with their area of responsibility. Ensuring that all procedures and processes are accurate and up to date.
  • Plan and coordinate all daily, weekly and planned labor activities for all of the Operations team (including 3rd party labor requirements). Includes all activities associated with; stock maintenance, product storage, stock discards and order processing (retrieval, packing and order assembly) shipping activities.  
  • Manage all quality assurance programs with the operations team. 
  • Working with third party labor provider to ensure the production requirements are met timely and precisely in accordance with all budgeted standards, processes, procedures and that all activities meet or exceed all regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain KPI’s. Manage staff to ensure that performance standards are met and that all information is accurate and up to date. Responsible for the reporting of KPI information to senior management, supervisors and leaders.
  • Responsible for supporting the budgeted costs. Support the budget process with Production manager and other senior site managers, ensuring that budget standards and expectations are met or exceeded.
  • In cooperation with HSES, ensure that all personnel have the appropriate training, PPE, and certifications for their roles
  • Adherence to all applicable HSE and other corporate policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Assist in presenting of all safety training classes
  • Ensure all equipment is properly calibrated and routinely inspected
     

Qualifications

Requirements 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training and certifications preferred
  • AA degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years related experience preferred
  • 5 years horticulture experience preferred
  • Experience in the management of production crews on farm settings.
  • Active knowledge of Horticulture fundamentals; basic crop requirements such as moisture, light, soil conditions and fertility.
  • Spanish fluency and or French (Creole) is desirable. 
  • Competent work skills with Microsoft Suite of Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
  • Able to communicate with a diverse workforce.
  • Must be fluent in English
