As a network management systems manager, you will lead a team of engineers and developers who create and maintain systems that help our Syngenta manage the global network. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of solutions and platforms, from planning and design to implementation and support. You will ensure that the systems meet the quality and performance standards, and that they align with the business goals and needs. You will also provide guidance and support to your team and the clients, and collaborate with other managers, stakeholders, and vendors. You will report to the Global Head of IT - Networks.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and evaluate a team of network management systems engineers and developers.
- Set and communicate the vision, goals, and roadmap for the network management systems team.
- Manage the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of network management systems and solutions.
- Ensure the quality, reliability, security, and scalability of the network management systems.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise to the team and the wider networking organisation on network management systems and best practices.
- Monitor and troubleshoot the network management systems and resolve any issues or incidents in a timely fashion.
- Manage the budget, resources, and timelines for the network management systems projects.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and partners. This includes working with other infrastructure and business technical areas to identify and develop opportunities for improved observability.
- Keep up with the latest trends, technologies, and standards in the network management systems domain.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation and AI that enable the wider Network organisation to reduce workload, improve MTTA and MTTF metrics.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in leading and managing technical teams and projects preferably in the network or cloud space.
- Knowledge of network management systems, protocols, and standards, such as SNMP, NetFlow, SYSLOG etc.
- 5+ years with ITIL processes and automation; Incident, problem, change, & configuration management.
- 2+ years working within AWS and/or Azure.
- Experience in applying devops processes and tools, such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, etc.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous hands on experience with network management tooling, coding, development and devops practices would be an advantage.
