Network Engineer - Operations

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

As a Network Engineer - Operations you will act as the face of the Syngenta network.  Ensure customers are informed and engaged for all of their networking needs.  Engage with service providers when their service is impacting ours.  Provide first line resolution where possible.  Ensure issues are managed from end-to-end to alleviate “ping-ponging” between groups and tiers.

Your main accountabilities will be:

• Own end-to-end incident management lifecycle
• Provide triaging / level 1 analysis of network incidents and requests
• First responder to network issues and requests
• Be proactive in engagement with the customer to ensure the network is performing as required by the business
• Evaluate network capacity and make recommendations or requests to change design
• Interface with service providers to ensure consistent and appropriate level of service
• Participate in global on-call follow-the-sun support model
• Regularly engage with stakeholders and provide timely updates with a customer experience focus
• Assist with maintenance of CMDB information

You will be a great fit if you have:

• Ability to leverage NMS tools to diagnose & triage issues or requests – Nagios, SevOne, SolarWinds, NetScout, ServiceNow, Meraki, 7Signal, etc.
• 3+ years’ using excellent communication to convey complex technical topics into layman terms in an enterprise environment while under time constraints. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• 3+ years’ experience in supporting large corporate networks
• 3+ years’ experience using network connectivity principals and technologies in an enterprise environment
• CCNA or comparable certification required
• Understanding of ITIL and its Principals 
• Experience with Meraki hardware preferable
