You will help shape the future of agriculture by: 

  • Produce high quality seed testing results to include germination, vigor, seed sizing, physical, trait and genetic purity by executing lab tasks assigned by Lab Leadership
  • Drive lab data management; collection and analysis
  • Organize, perform, and lead in assigned areas to ensure all required processes, procedures and data requirements are met 

Accountabilities  

  • Ensure that all seed is properly handled and tested so that accurate seed quality results will be completed within assigned timelines
  • Develop a working understanding and aptitude for all lab functions to be able to fill in for colleagues when necessary
  • Participate in continuous improvement in laboratory operations
  • Participate in industry certifications for the lab
  • Be personally committed and accountable in support of our HSE goal zero initiative
  • Accurately interpret and report data
  • Provide proper supervision for seasonal staff while conducting testing and analyzing data
  • Foster an inclusive laboratory culture that allows everyone to learn and contribute to the lab success
  • Support incorporation of the Seeds Quality Framework and continuous improvement principles into Quality Control operations
  • Follow all legal & corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Assist with quality documentation of tests conducted
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements 

  • Must be High School graduate or have a GED
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in science, agriculture, or related; or A.A. and 2+ years relevant work experience, or 3+ years relevant work experience preferred
  • Fluent in English
  • Prefer RST (Registered Seed Technologist) or willingness to work towards certification.
  • Prefer strong data science experience
  • Knowledge of agriculture and or experience in the seed industry
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Power BI, Minitab, SAP preferred
  • Forklift certified preferred

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday through Friday with occasional overtime and weekends during peak times
  • Attendance required at daily 7:00am team meeting
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Typical lab environment
  • Some travel may be required

Other:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S.
