Here is how this role will be critical to our business:

  • Lead HR Operations service for NA Region internal team with focus on engagement, empowerment and talent development
  • Manage the operations, processes, and vendors associated with HR Operations Service, Payroll support, Benefits support, New Journey Administration, HR Administration, Global Mobility, and Domestic Relocation, etc.
  • Manage the service for HR Operations to include Internal team in Montevideo and oversight of Capgemini HR Administration team based in the Kolkata Service Center, vendor management for unemployment claims, vendor management for New Joiner administration, manage the work verification (I9) program, vendor, and process, and point of contact for issues and escalations with vendors, HR Administration process, etc.
  • Prepare report for and lead monthly meetings with local, regional and global HR Operations Managers
  • Manage employee data management and provide advice and guidance to HR Business Partners in organizational management (from a systems, compliance and administration perspective)
  • Drive ongoing services improvement and value delivery; definition and tracking of performance metrics to identify continuous improvement opportunities and levers.  This includes ensuring employees have the relevant continuous improvement capabilities (Lean, agile and general continuous improvement techniques)
  • Manage the daily work and performance of a team of analysts who support the operations of HR Administration and People & Organizational Development (POD) Center of Expertise
  • Manage responses to audit requests by internal and external auditors and ensure all evidence provided to auditors is restricted to non-confidential information.
  • Own the responsibility of ensuring Syngenta’s compliance with all State and Federal employment law requirements
  • Build strong partnerships with key client groups, such as Business leaders, Business HR and HR Centers of Expertise, on Delivery Center and across the region. Use empathy and design thinking to embed continuous feedback loops to evolve and refine service delivery performance.
  • Supports and encourages effective collaboration, interconnectivity, and process alignment with all areas of HR and specially with HR Operations MVD and NA team. Be an active member of the HR Operations MVD and NA LT teams
  • Participate and lead projects within region including acquisitions
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs evolve

It is indispensable for this position:

  • Must have a minimum of 7 years working in an HR Operations organization leading position at a country, multi‑country, regional or global level.
  • Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Must have demonstrated working knowledge of HR Service processes
  • Must have strong knowledge in HR employment law and compliance
  • English and Spanish proficiency
  • Passionate about delivering services to the business and a desire to lead change projects to continuously improve what we do.
  • Experience in Vendor Management as this role manages several vendors – experience with managing to SLAs, process improvement, etc
  • Experience in system/process enhancements to help support initiatives that create a positive employee experience through leveraging technology and service
  • Experience in managing change and transformation within a function
  • Experience with HR systems – Syngenta’s system landscape; HCM is Workday, Service Now, Smart Recruiter
  • Experience with Customer Service Skills as this role interacts with all levels within the organization, and all associated HR processes, needs to be able to manage difficult situations
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to build strong and positive relationships with local, regional and with global teams.
  • Experience leading, engaging and developing a team
