Job description

As the MPF (Multi-Production Facility) Unit Superintendent, you will manage an Active Ingredient Production unit at the St. Gabriel site. The MPF unit is a batch process that currently produces two products in two campaigns per year.  You will be responsible for meeting production targets necessary to meet target volumes and customer requirements. You will ensure that the production unit operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this highly visible role, you will interact with Senior Leadership, Supply Chain, and other functions to set and meet production requirements.

Duties:

  • Responsible for all MPF department safety, environmental, and health key performances.
  • Ensure the production unit complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Manage a total team of about 40 including a Production Leader, Production Engineer, Day Supervisor, Shift Supervisors, Maintenance Planning Coordinators and Shift Technicians.
  • Responsible for the supervision and development of direct reports including the completion of yearly performance evaluations and Personal Development Plans.
  • Single point of contact for all department production related problems and issues.
  • Responsible for all department communication both upward and downward through the AI Production organization.
  • Drives operational excellence across all shifts and proactively drives improvements to shift organization and operations.
  • Works closely with area engineers and site process technology group to improve unit efficiency.
  • Responsible for department Operational Discipline including operator training, operations procedures and operating manuals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred. 
  • Minimum 5 -10 years of experience in a chemical or manufacturing setting as Production Engineer or Production Supervisor.  Production Manager or Production Superintendent experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of OEE and plant reliability.
  • Demonstrated understanding of best engineering practices and the application of RAGAGEPs to assets and processes
  • Excellent background in Engineering with some interdisciplinary or cross functional experience preferred
  • Experience in motivating teams to meet challenging goals
  • Working knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP and Environmental Air and Water Permits.
