ROLE PURPOSE:

The accountable owner of the commercial capability development curriculum and approach through training, community management and knowledge management with focus on Marketing, Sales and Agronomy

Maintain and update the core curriculum in line with the evolving business capability needs. Promote and activate this to optimize engagement and drive business impact

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The role-holder is responsible for the development of commercial capabilities through the design and delivery of effective and efficient content and training approaches, leveraging automation wherever suitable.

Content ((in close collaboration with the Capability Leads and Knowledge Specialist)

  • Ensure all current MaSE content (processes, templates, tools, best practices, eLearning, guided learning) is regularly reviewed and updated to ensure relevance and applicability
  • Support the Knowledge and Content Specialist with the implementation of a robust knowledge management process, that fully leverages latest technology and the network of content owners across Syngenta
  • Work closely with the countries, regional marketing, and external advisors to identify new capability needs and create/curate new content (including MaSE Good Practices) accordingly
  • Work closely with global to translate and localize targeted elements of the online MaSE curriculum

Training (in close collaboration with the Learning Experience Design Manager)

  • Lead the development, implementation and improvement of commercial learning approaches by monitoring best practice external trends and adapting for Syngenta to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure use of the range of training modalities available from short self-learning modules to fully structured blended learning programs focused on embedding learning in application
  • Work closely with the indications and countries to support the development and execution of commercial capability development roadmaps. Offer top-down sponsorship (delivery, budget) for new game-changing capabilities each year
  • Maintain, evolve and activate an appropriate bench of external consultants and trainers.  Act as the primary relationship owner for the selected preferred partners

Communities (in close collaboration with the Communications and Communities Specialist)

 

  • Catalyse the sharing/learning across leader and commercial practitioner networks (marketing, sales and agronomy). 
  • Leverage the Learning Edge platform to activate collaborative groups and coordinate/chair offline forums.
  • Implement a regular cadence of connections and ensure collection of regular feedback to shape both content and cadence for each forum.
  • Own the MaSE Professional accreditation program. Work in close collaboration with the regions to ensure effective recruitment, onboarding and deployment of Professionals.
    • Target new recruits to ensure coverage of the in-focus capabilities and evolve as required.
    • Connect the existing community of MaSE Professionals and support their capability development through targeted training offers

Promotion and Tracking (in close collaboration with the LX and Comms Managers)

  • Manage the internal “MaSE Brand” and continually strive to strengthen the brand equity
  • Drive an active internal marketing campaign to connect MaSE offers to internal customers. Deliver targeted and high frequency connections using emails and webinars as the primary channels
  • Maintain and continually evolve a range of MaSE promotional content to clearly position MaSE offers and drive engagement
  • Actively track the engagement of internal audiences across online and offline connection points.  Use engagement dashboards to regularly assess key performance metrics to inform and shape next actions

 


Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience in commercial roles
  • Experience in building teams to support capability development incorporating digital approaches
  • Solid experience in transformation projects and/or program management
  • Proven team leadership skills

Critical knowledge

  • Leadership roles in commercial function primarily sales and marketing to ensure grass-roots understanding of the competency requirements
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluency in commercial blueprint
