The purpose of this position is to drive the operational discipline transformation on the manufacturing site.  The Change Agent is a pivotal role within the Manufacturing Excellence organization, responsible for implementing and supporting various change projects throughout the site and developing a culture of people orientated change management and acting as a role model to demonstrate these values. Act as catalyst and facilitator to help engage wider employee group, working across boundaries to ensure St. Gabriel site can continue to “Lead to Win in Manufacturing”. Furthermore, the Change Agent will use their experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies to coach and support ManEx workstream leads throughout the organization, helping to drive successful change implementations while also improving the skills of those they support.

Accountabilities: 

  • Perform operational discipline assessment on specific area of expertise (Maintenance, Production performance, Mindset and Behaviors), identify opportunity for productivity increase, define and implement breakthrough implementation plan.
  • Support leaders in developing organization capability.
  • Design of new tools.
  • Training of employee on standardized practices (Syngenta Production System).
  • Coaching of leaders.
  • Work with a range of cross functional partners and wider business capabilities (Operations, Engineering, HSES, PTAI, etc) to drive the journey to transform Syngenta’s operating model and sustain improved performance.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to ensure People Centered Implementation of change.
  • Ensure compliance to agreed governance framework and delivery process.
  • Be able to articulately, passionately, and regularly present Manufacturing Excellence Change activities to all levels of the organization, building support and engagement for future changes.
  • Spot opportunities by acting as a catalyst to all core functions to help find solutions or come up with strategies and tactics that are aligned between local needs and global streams, helping translate business objectives into strategies and tactics.
  • Support global ManEx in application of Syngenta Production System. Perform audits.

This is a onsite position located in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. 


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical or mechanical) or bachelor’s degree in applied science or chemistry with relevant work experience of 5 to 10 years.
  • Strong understanding of People Centered Change philosophies and the importance of good facilitation in change management.
  • Deep understanding of Continuous improvement methodologies (Lean / Six Sigma / Kaizen / Operational Excellence OpEx).
  • Good knowledge of project management processes including both Agile and traditional waterfall approaches.
  • Understanding of chemical processes and unit operations (Chemical engineering knowledges).
  • Well versed in process data analysis using Data analytic and visualization tools.

Preferred:

  • Experience in chemical manufacturing batch processes and familiar with formulation, fill and pack (FF&P) operation will be a plus but not required.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationship across stakeholder groups with the ability to effectively influence and communicate across various business lines and units, from shop floor to the senior levels.
  • Experience in structuring and developing compelling narratives to engage others.
  • Delivery of continuous improvement or similar project activities within a large organization, combined with the ability to prioritize, plan, organize and monitor multiple concurrent activities in order to meet aggressive timelines, influencing teams over which they have no line management accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
  • Understanding of the manufacturing process in specialty chemical and process industry, or similar fast paced & complex environment.
  • External accreditation in continuous improvement practices and methodologies, particularly in people focus change management or equivalent experience.
  • External accreditation in project management and methodologies or equivalent experience.
  • An entrepreneurial drive, with the ability to deconstruct and solve problems, to investigate drivers and figure out why things happen.
  • Good organization, multitasking and time management skills.
  • Good listening skills, ability to ask questions and probe to uncover issues.
  • Ability to facilitate effectively, drawing the best out of everyone in the room for the optimal outcome.
  • Ability to train and coach others on their ManEx journey.
