The Regulatory Affairs Manager plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating the approval and registration of pesticide products. They are responsible for navigating the complex regulatory landscape and providing guidance to internal stakeholders on regulatory strategies and compliance matters. The role requires a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, scientific knowledge, advocacy skills and excellent project management and communication skills.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay updated with local, national, and international regulations related to pesticides, fertilizer / biological products & bio-pesticides.
  • Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements to cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to address any potential challenge of FTO.
  • Closely work with provincial regulators to manage official trials in Sindh.
  • Keep close liaison with warehouse teams, sales & marketing teams to ensure compliance at provincial level.

Product Registration and Approval

  • Provide support in getting standardization & registration of pesticides & fertilizer/micro-nutrient products respectively.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests for additional information from regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor the progress of registrations and maintain accurate records.
  • Had good understanding of regulations around pesticides and bio-pesticides.

Protect & maintain Freedom to Operate (FTO)

  • Ensure timely approvals of Distribution licenses of provinces to protect business continuity.
  • Keep very close liaison with authorities to ensure compliance at province level.
  • Ensue registration compliance of fertilizer products at provincial level to maintain continuity of business in provinces.
  • Ensure close working with pesticide testing labs at provincial levels for smooth testing of products.
  • Proactively watch & raise flag on potential challenges based on the assessments taken during meetings with authorities.
  • Ensure good working with value chain partners, academia and regulators to address their concerns with technical data.

Regulator

  • Monitor and analyze changes in regulatory policies and guidelines.
  • Proactively assess the impact of regulatory developments on business operations and products.
  • Proactively communicate regulatory updates and changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to cater evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Closely observe & communicate new technologies under registration in Pakistan to relevant stakeholders.
  • Update teams on pest developments and cropping patterns.

Intelligence

  • Work closely with Supply chain, P&S & warehouse teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Support marketing and sales teams in understanding and communicating regulatory requirements to customers.
  • Liaise with external industry associations & farmer associations.

Regulatory Strategy and Advocacy:

  • Engage with regulatory authorities to advocate for the company's positions and interests.
  • Provide strategic input on possible developments or new market entries.
  • Able to work closely with sales team, farmers, academia & government institutes.

Qualifications

  • At least Master’s degree in Agriculture preferably in Agri. Entomology/Pathology.
  • Keeps in-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks and requirements for pesticides.
  • Familiarity with regulatory agencies and processes at national and international levels.
  • Strong understanding of scientific and technical principles related to pesticide development and safety.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills for preparing regulatory documents and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills to assess and interpret complex regulatory information.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making processes.
  • Experience in regulatory affairs of pesticide & pesticide stewardship matters
