Role purpose

The Legal Counsel CAC position is a role responsible for providing broad legal and compliance oversight for Syngenta´s business in Central America and Caribbean (CAC), acting as a legal advisor and business partner the functions and business.

Responsabilities

• Act as Legal Business Partner and focal point for Syngenta´s business in Central America and Caribbean.
• Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating simple and complex agreements in several areas, including distribution, supply, services and sales agreements;
• Supporting projects, such as those impacting our go-to-market models and Syngenta´s corporate structure.
• Engaging with the business and functions to ensure compliance by aiding in the continued development, aligning with key stakeholders on legal priorities, training and educational needs and consistent compliance and Data Protection efforts.
• Becoming an active member of the Commercial Unit Leadership Team de CAC, advising on a broad range of corporate matters including strategic partnerships, complex commercial deals, compliance issues, risk assessment and external engagement activities.
• Monitoring and analyzing critical new legislation and regulations that may impact the business or its reputation.
• Managing and leading the litigation strategy and coordination of the external law firms.
• Managing legal and corporate governance structures of Syngenta, in coordination with corporate legal, tax and finance colleagues.
• Working with other members of the Legal team in LAN and LATAM to develop and optimize systems and processes for effectiveness aiming efficiency and collaboration.
• Ability to influence others to drive action and unlock problems, without creating disruption and while defending recommendations throughout the company.
• Build and manage a support network of external law firms in different jurisdictions to ensure the qualified legal support necessary for business in the region.

It is indispensable for this position:

• Lawyer Degree. Master´s Degree is a plus
• Minimum experience of 6 – years as a Legal corporate advisor
• Advanced English
