  • You will lead a small team of experienced GLP QA Inspectors
  • You will manage the QAU in compliance with the Swiss Ordinance on Good Laboratory Practice of 18 May 2005 by monitoring the control activities against the QA program.
  • You will ensure that QAU, like the Test Facility, operates on a high GLP quality standard, that necessary documentation exists and is followed.  
  • You will verify that deviations from GLP principles are reported to the responsible study directors and test facility management. You will assist the QA inspectors in resolving any problems that may arise.
  • You will also act as GLP QA inspector (study audits and inspections)

Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge of the Swiss Ordinance on Good Laboratory Practice of 18 May 2005 and the relevant OECD GLP guidelines
  • QC/QA experience is not the right fit for this role
  • Demonstrated proficiency in GLP audit procedures and documentation.
  • At least several years’ experience in planning and conducting of nonclinical study inspections and audits, to show compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations
  • Knowledge of routine analytical methodologies, with an emphasis on chromatography
  • Knowledge of computerized system validation
  • Good interpersonal skills with demonstrable tact and diplomacy
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of MS-Access and SQL would be a plus
  • With your openness and understanding of mutuality, your active communication and continuous value assessment you foster and encourage our team mentality. You communicate and work effectively with scientific staff at all levels within the Testing Facility and you see yourself as a creative problem solver.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in German and English

We are looking for a Team Leader of our GLP Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) based in Basel. The focus of the position is to ensure the high GLP quality standard of Syngenta’s largest GLP Testing Facility in Münchwilen (AG).   The GLP Testing Facility conducts approx. thousand short term studies per year in the area of “physical-chemical testing” and “analytical and clinical chemistry testing”.
