As part of our activities in Frankfurt, Syngenta is looking for a:

Lead Sustainable Farming DACH (m/w/d) Crop Protection

Role purpose:

Lead Sustainable Farming DACH leads, drives, and supports the sustainable farming agenda for Business Unit DACH including concept scouting, development and implementation of sustainable farming services, regenerative agriculture initiatives and new business opportunities. Being in this role you are a member of both BU DACH Business Development & Sustainability and EAME Sustainability Leadership team.

 

Responsibilities/main tasks:

  • Lead the Sustainable Farming agenda for Business Unit (BU) DACH in cooperation with EAME sustainability function as integral part of the business unit’s activities, to develop and deliver Sustainable Farming initiatives and business processes in close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the EAME Sustainable Farming Team in shaping and delivery of the Sustainable Farming and Regenerative Agriculture strategies, including the co-development of stewardship activities and sustainable farming services
  • Develop respective business cases, business models and deliver the implementation of these projects within BU DACH’s Digital Ag/Digital Services, Marketing and Sales teams
  • Supervise demo farm network operations, coordination of practical use showcasing of sustainable farming technology to drive customer intimacy and the adoption of regenerative Ag practices in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland
  • Collaborate with DACH Communication and Public Affairs to organize showcasing events
  • Work closely with the EAME Sustainability function to align on priorities

Qualifications

  • Degree in Agriculture, Biology, or adjacent fields
  • Extensive experience in the agricultural sector, min. 5 years in commercial functions
  • Deep understanding of the Commercial Agriculture business blueprint in Germany, Austria & Switzerland
  • Strong technical background in Agriculture, particularly in sustainability
  • Experience in driving business development from scratch
  • Strategic, conceptional and analytical thinking
  • High degree of self-management and initiative, ability to lead change
  • Collaborate across boundaries 
  • Fluent in German & English; additional command of French and/or Italian is an advantage
