The Senior IT Program Manager plays a crucial role in driving the achievement of organizational objectives through effective management of complex IT programs and portfolio. They are responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of solutions and programs, from strategic planning to execution and delivery. By providing strategic direction and guidance, the Senior IT Program Manager ensures that programs are aligned with the broader business goals and objectives.

Here is how this role will be critical to our business:

1. Program Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop program strategies, roadmaps, and plans that align with Syngenta’s objec-tives and priorities.
  • Identify and define program goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough program assessments, including risk analysis, resource require-ments, and feasibility studies.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive program schedule, ensuring that tasks and milestones are clearly defined.

2. Program Execution and Delivery:

  • Oversee the execution of programs, ensuring adherence to the defined scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Establish effective governance structures, communication channels, and decision-making processes for program teams.
  • Monitor program progress, track key performance indicators, and implement correc-tive actions as necessary.
  • Mitigate risks, resolve issues, and manage dependencies to ensure program delivery within agreed-upon parameters.

3. Stakeholder Management:

  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives, project sponsors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Engage stakeholders in program planning, provide regular updates on progress, and address concerns or feedback.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize program requirements, balancing competing interests and expectations.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring alignment with program goals and managing any potential conflicts.

4. Resource and Financial Management:

  • Optimize the allocation of resources, including budget, staff, and external vendors, to support program objectives.
  • Monitor and control program budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring financial discipline.
  • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to manage contracts, vendor relationships, and procurement processes.
  • Regularly assess resource needs and make recommendations for adjustments or enhancements as required.

 

5. Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive program status reports, executive-level presentations, and other communication materials.
  • Effectively communicate program progress, risks, and successes to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity.
  • Facilitate regular program review meetings, steering committee sessions, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Promote a culture of open communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within program teams.

Qualifications

Essential for this position:

  • IT professional or similar
  • Advance level of English (mandatory)
  • Knowledge in SAP/Salesforce or similar (Mandatory)
  • Program Management Expertise (Mandatory): Proven track record in successfully managing complex IT programs, including large-scale initiatives with multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster trust, build relationships, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic Thinking and Business Acumen: Ability to think strategically and align programs with organizational goals, considering market trends, business priorities, and technological advancements
  • Risk Management and Problem Solving: Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to changing circumstances, ensuring program success in dynamic environments.
  • Communication and Influencing: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Financial and Resource Management: Solid understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
