To support that challenge, the Formulations and Applications Technology team is currently seeking Laboratory Intern in Platsville, Ontario. As a Laboratory Intern, you will work alongside our formulations and application team to support critical crop protection research, specifically through lab operations and logistics.

Accountabilities

  • Support R&D sample logistics through procurement, packaging and shipment of chemical test items.
  • Support efficient lab operations by contributing to equipment maintenance, chemical inventory, and lab hygiene.
  • Function individually and as part of a team to support chemical research and application engineering projects at the Honeywood Research Facility.
  • Evaluate prototype crop protection formulations using physiochemical and digital assays.
  • Complete pilot scale trials investigating sprayer performance in the lab and in the field.
  • Work as part of a cross-functional team to develop novel formulations and application equipment for the Canadian market.

Duration:  January 2023 – August 2023


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A positive attitude and excitement for learning
  • Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or related field
  • ‘G’ class license
  • Ability to repetitively lift a max of 20lbs at one time and work in sustained awkward postures
  • Must be comfortable standing or walking, bending, kneeling or working in awkward positions and lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling medium to heavy weight materials
  • Must be comfortable working indoors in inclement test environments, both high & low temperatures
  • Handling and use of chemical test substances with full personal protective equipment including various respirators.

 You might also have:

  • Previous relevant summer experience is considered an asset, however all experience levels and academic disciplines are welcome to apply
  • Highly Organized with ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated history of versatility and adaptability in a professional, educational, or community setting.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills; ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal, written, presentations)
