We are currently recruiting for a Chemist or Chemical Engineer to work in our process hazards section lab based in Huddersfield. We are a group of Technical Specialists in process safety, whose responsibilities include the generation of data (particularly flammability and thermal stability) with state-of-the-art equipment to support Syngenta’s operations across the globe.

Your primary responsibilities will be ensuring the reliable and timely generation and delivery of process safety data to project teams across the whole of Syngenta worldwide. You will be part of a diverse, global team carrying out business-critical and long-term cross-disciplinary strategic projects. You will also liaise with our partners, ensuring studies are completed to expected turnaround times, with opportunities to further grow and develop your career with us.


Qualifications

Specific prior knowledge of process safety measurements and data is not necessary, as you will be joining a group of globally recognised technical experts that will support your development in this area.  What we do require from you is:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • The ability to work relatively independently in a laboratory environment with high standards of HSE, and a scientific curiosity to learn new techniques, explore new innovations and their application to solve problems in projects.

  • Base salary approx. £30-40K.
