We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our Syngenta Tech team. As a Junior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain innovative software solutions for our technology products. Your responsibilities will include writing clean and efficient code in Java, Python, and JavaScript, participating in code reviews, and troubleshooting software issues. In this role, you will work directly with team members to design and implement cutting edge software solutions that supports the business. You will be responsible for developing software, writing unit tests and implementing DevSecOps pipelines. You will provide technical expertise, implement software engineering initiatives and build end-to-end engineering solutions that are highly available, scalable, stable, secure, and cost-effective. You will work with a wide range of technologies (e.g. Java, Python, AWS, GCP etc) and stay abreast of emerging technologies, investigating and implementing where appropriate. You will be responsible for developing the software architecture components that scales for the ever-evolving customer needs.
Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop software solutions for agriculture technology products.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Java, Python, and JavaScript.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving software issues.
- Work closely with senior engineers to learn and contribute to the development process.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to agriculture technology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- 1-3 years of hands-on development experience.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, cloud technologies and DevSecOps.
- Familiarity with front-end and back-end development.
- Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Good understanding of ML and Data Analytics
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
