ROLE PURPOSE:

  • Provide reliable and timely budgets and latest outlooks for P&L area in scope
  • Provide support and guidance to business managers and function co
  • Participate in strategic business planning and business processes by preparing financial budgets and rolling forecast
  • Analyse monthly sales and function costs, and provide relevant commentaries and insights to finance and business stakeholders
  • Based on discussions with business stakeholders and in collaboration with Accounting-to-Reporting teams, ensure accruals for sales deductions and function cost are properly reflected in reported monthly results
  • Participate in month-end closing processes and manage key system monthly submissions
  • Continuous improvement of cash flow forecasting
  • Provide timely and insightful financial analysis to support business decisions, understanding business performance on a monthly / quarterly / annual basis
  • Ensure proper master data maintenance in SAP (cost centre structure, pricing structure)
  • Contribute to development and use of business intelligence tools (SAP Analytic Cloud, Power BI), data visualisation and predictive analysis techniques
  • Financial analysis and credit risk opinion reporting of current and potential clients for further credit limit provision;
  • Recommendation to business units on risk mitigation measures;
  • Overdue management: dunning and collection;
  • Customer visits;
  • Monthly reporting for management (gross A/R, risk mitigation and bad debt provisions. Ad hoc reporting of collection forecasts and actions being undertaken to collect overdue debts).

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Critical Knowledge:

  • Bachelor/Master/MBA/Business School in Economics or Finance
  • Good understanding and experience of International Financial reporting standards.
  • Good level understanding of Syngenta business and industry drivers.
  • Proactively challenging local business teams on financial issues.
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills (English is a must), including presentation skills.
  • Naturally enthusiastic, displaying a can do attitude.
  • Effective teamwork, resolving diverse controlling and analysis requirements.
  • Ability to deputize for finance business partner when required.
  • Best practices for the development of annual budgets, latest estimates and financial planning.

Critical Skills:

    • A finance professional with a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in reporting, planning and controlling, along with experience in different forms of business financial analysis.
  • Proactive and pragmatic approach, demonstrate maturity to command respect, excellent interpersonal skills and cultural awareness, excellent communication skills.
  • Creative and innovative, keen to improve, solution driven
  • Highest ethical standards.
  • Both strong team player and independent worker.
