In this role, you will be accountable for managing financial operations for the Seeds R&D IT function as well as the coordination of a multifunctional, global IT portfolio budget. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing, managing and controlling annual and long-term operational budgets and intangible capital budgets.
  • Closely partner with Finance, Procurement and IT Supplier Management to devise efficient buying processes
  • Prepare and present financial analysis and monthly financial reports to senior management teams highlighting areas of opportunity and concern and recommending action plans.
  • Ensuring that all financial reports and statements are accurate, complete, and in compliance with corporate and other financial guidelines and regulations
  • Monitor cash flow and financial performance and provide recommendations for improving financial results. Analyze expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities and partner with the technical teams to implement initiatives to reduce IT operations costs.
  • Work closely with the IT leadership to ensure that all expenditures align with strategic objectives
  • Coach analysts and team members responsible managing day-to-day financial operations
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and process automation and financial reporting
  • Manage intangible capital investment budget for IT software development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, and other department heads
  • Ensure that all financial management processes are properly documented and accessible to key stakeholders.   Ensure that IT teams are properly trained on their roles and responsibilities in managing IT budget.

This person will work in our Durham, NC location on a hybrid work schedule.

 


Qualifications

Required skills

  • The ideal candidate will have a solid background in financial management, budgeting and forecasting with experience working in the IT industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management experience directly in the IT industry
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles and financial regulations
  • Knowledge of IT department operations
  • Experience managing finances of IT capital management programs
  • Excellent analytical, budgeting, and forecasting skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Excel and other financial software

Preferred skills

  • Master's degree (MBA) in finance or accounting (or equivalent experience) preferred
  • Working knowledge of Smartsheet preferred
