Location: Sao Paulo, Brazil

Role Purpose

  • To support the delivery of global, regional, and local Finance strategy through working with functions in Business Finance and Finance Operations on process and system improvements.
  • To drive continuous improvement of processes, systems, and ways of working to optimize efficiency and effectiveness and to propose improvements to positively impact performance in Finance, in connection with overall Finance digital agenda and with other related functions for cross-functional impact projects.
  • To support and lead process design and system changes accordingly, in compliance with License to Operate local requirements, as well as with Syngenta internal policies and control framework.
  • To foster and manage the collaboration and alignment between Americas FP&T team and our colleagues in EAME, APAC, GFO and our Global function, as well as with IT and Continuous Improvement functions.

Accountabilities

  • To seek for opportunities to partner with Finance stakeholders in different process areas and provide process leadership and expertise to challenge, support, enable and improve Finance performance.
  • To drive FP&T portfolio planning for the Region/Territory in scope, ensuring the set of programs/projects are prioritized and mapped against the Finance strategy:
  • To drive the portfolio initiatives in scope to completion through managing BPA and technology partner successful delivery, as well as to ensure proper cost management and financial controlling visibility.
  • To conduct regular FP&T portfolio reviews with Finance stakeholders in scope and reprioritize when necessary.
  • To champion Finance processes and apply a set of methodologies, tools and techniques to deliver change.
  • To identify opportunities resulting from situational changes such as new regulation, data insights, new business situations to shape sustainable Finance processes and systems.
  • To proactively plan the stretch of the individual capability set through the development of hard and soft skills and to contribute to the team capability development through collaboration, learning and sharing.
  • To act as single point of contact for Finance stakeholders on programs, projects and process activities.

Qualifications

Essential for this position:

  • Qualification i.e. CPA, Finance, Business Management, or IT.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in multinational or big local companies with clear and established finance processes.
  • Relevant experience in Finance, Business Management, or IT.
  • Using data and analysis to generate insights and identifying core process issues in complex problems with many interrelated factors.
  • Change management, project management, Agile methodologies, other methodologies to drive process and system changes.
  • Understanding of the current and future challenges faced by the organization and the drivers of change.
  • Good working knowledge of finance processes.
  • Good understanding of business end-to-end processes and internal controls necessary to safeguard the Company’s assets.
  • Ability to effectively function in a complex multi-dimensional, multi-cultural matrix organization.
  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders and to work in connection with remote and multicultural teams.
  • Excellent command of English.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Postgraduate or master’s degree in finance, Business, IT.
  • SAP hands on knowledge.
  • Intermediate or higher level of Spanish.
