As technology and digitalization leader, the IT Business Partner for HR partners closely with Syngenta Group’s global HR organization and with the cross-functional Syngenta Group Global Services & Solutions (GSS) central team. The primary purpose is to identify opportunities, develop strategies and deliver technology-enabled business solutions that result in step changes in day-to-day employee experience while unlocking productivity and efficiency potential. Furthermore, the incumbent will represent IT & Digital towards HR and ensure overall satisfaction with IT & Digital services.

  • Partners with HR and GSS central team to co-create and maintain digitalization / technology strategy & roadmaps based on functional HR and overall GSS strategies.
  • Actively promotes and drives digitalization leveraging data and technology such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics and automation toolsets.
  • Understands the vendor and solution landscape and proposes innovative technology solutions in support of business objectives.
  • Fosters agile approaches, drives experiments and upon success delivers scalable solutions.
  • Is fully accountable for effective solution delivery from requirements through evaluation / RFP, design, implementation, value-realization, steady-state support, and lifecycle management – in close collaboration with the HR services & solutions team.
  • Establishes a way to measure outcomes, balancing employee engagement and efficiency / productivity metrics, and fosters incentive-setting accordingly.
  • Drives change in ways of working, fostering employee centricity, cross-functional end-to-end design, high levels of automation with a strong focus on empowering BUs and markets to meet their specific needs.
  • Develops and owns an employee-centric architecture stack in close collaboration with relevant business functions and with technology teams (e.g. Service Now, Workplace Tech, Intelligent Automation). Defines and runs fit-for-purpose governance to ensure application of agreed principles across projects.
  • In partnership with GSS functions, builds organizational capabilities enabling human centered design, such as design thinking, persona and employee journey mapping, user experience engineering.
  • Represents IT & Digital towards HR and ensures overall satisfaction with IT & Digital services.
  • Partners with the local Swiss HR team to ensure adequate implementation, maintenance, and support of local IT

Qualifications

  • Masters’ degree or equivalent in information management, information technology, or another business or scientific field in combination with relevant practical experience in information management
  • Min. 10 years experience working in a technology leadership role for a multi-national organization.
  • Strong track record driving digitalization and achieving tangible business value through innovative technology solutions in a complex enterprise setting.
  • Broad understanding of technology used in enterprise context, in particular ERP, service management platforms, application integration, reporting & analytics, automation tools and artificial intelligence.
  • Track record designing and managing effective domain & solutions architectures.
  • Experience applying agile principles and practices.
  • Experience applying human centered design concepts, in particular design thinking, UX engineering.
  • Project management experience.
