We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist for our North America Seeds team in Salinas, Puerto Rico. As the Human Resources Generalist, you will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:

Qualifications

Accountabilities  

  • Provide professional HR support to Global and Regional HRBPs, business leaders and employees with regards to all people matters, including but not limited to: 
  • Talent acquisition support 
  • Talent development support 
  • Employee relations 
  • Compensation support 
  • Site support 
  • Projects 
  • Support the site leader in all HR matters
  • Facilitate various talent development sessions including new hire orientation, team effectiveness sessions, manage learning plans and pathways in Learning Management System
  • Run reports and analyze HR data
  • Assist in employee survey administration, data collection and report creation
  • Manage employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.  Will proactively liaise with other members of the HR team and/or legal counsel for their expertise with complex, sensitive matters.
  • Coach and support managers for reorganization and termination notifications.  This includes preparation of severance documentation, termination scripts, and supporting offboarding activities. 
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary and Action Plan meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Act as primary HR point of contact for immigration and relocation cases within the US.  Partner with our US and Global Mobility teams, HR Operations staff, managers, candidates and employees to successfully obtain and maintain government approval for critical talent to work in the US.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 
  • Project management experience
  • Exposure to US and Puerto Rico HR practices, policies, laws 
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations 
  • PHR certification desired
  • Workday experience desired
  • Experience working in a global matrix environment desired
  • Working knowledge of US immigration processes desired
  • Must be authorized to work for Syngenta in the United States without work authorization sponsorship.
