As part of the HR Solutions and Systems team, the HR Data Architect needs to understand the way data is used to drive and support the business, provide the tools and techniques to ensure the quality and consistent application of each data object.

The HR Data Architect plays an important role in the HR Operations function by collaborating with the business in designing the overall data model, and subsequently providing oversight of the definition, usage, and evolution across the HR systems landscape.

The role contributes to the future of Syngenta’s Group HR technology and data landscape, with responsibility for defining the Syngenta Group HR Cloud Data Architecture in line with agreed business standards and strategy in order to create an enhanced understanding and user experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review and continuously refine Syngenta’s HR data strategy, inclusive in the delivery of Syngenta Group HR reporting suite in collaboration with business units to determine data objects and appropriate mappings for consistent data with key measurements
  • Drive and ensure HR data governance and security inclusive of Data Privacy legislation, reviewing and refining processes to support adherence
  • Develop, define and manage the HR data landscape including internal/external applications, data stores, and data sharing networks through to data mapping and maintenance of a data exhibit
  • Lead on digital technology projects hands-on as data expert for all functional / logical data issues, such as identifying the source of truth, data mappings and defining logically consistent connections across data sets.
  • Partner with security, network, platform, and solution architecture teams to define and ensure data architecture and digital technology solution alignment with the enterprise architecture.
  • Proactively explore data industry trends and best practices, advising on new and improved approaches with further embedment to HR data strategy
  • Research technology options that will drive improvement in data governance across the business, promote informed decision-making and support the HR operating mode
  • Build and maintain the Syngenta HR Data Dictionary to ensure complete centralized understanding of our data model

Qualifications

General Experience

  • Experience in the capacity of Data Architecture, HR Reporting, HR Analytics or HR Techno-Functional delivery
  • Proven Experience in setting up and implementing data standards, principles and governance
  • Well versed in data profiling, data mapping and source systems analysis
  • Functional experience in HR technology including a proven track record in Workday or Success Factors
  • Strong knowledge of architecture methodologies, principles, and frameworks, ideally TOGAF and has practical experience of defining technology domain roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated experience working in large-scale and complex data environments

Critical Skills and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or an IT related course is needed to start a career as a data architect.
  • Ability to work at various levels, including business process, data architecture, data integration, and data tools/platforms.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills
  • Influential, effective communicator who can articulate complex data issues to non-technical audiences
