Role Purpose

  • Manage the Global Planning & Operations department and set strategic direction in collaboration with P&S, Marketing and Commercial functions.
  • Sponsor projects to improve efficient supply of Vegetables seeds to meet commercial expectations. Drive innovation into the current ways of working.
  • Coordinate and support seamless flow of operations across P&S functions end to end, define and implement tools and processes necessary to achieve an efficient Supply Chain supporting and improve expectations of commercial teams and in alignment of agreed KPIs.
  • Take ownership of projects and initiatives for optimize inventory levels.

Dimensions

  • SSV Planning & Operations area covers all Production Planning and Supply activities for Small Seeded Vegetables seeds.
  • All Global Small Seeded Vegetables operations performed in all Vegs Syngenta plants or third-party contractors on seeds destined to all markets.
  • Order fulfilment for all Territories and inter regional shipments.
  • People: 100+
  • Financial Scope: Turnover >700mio USD on yearly base

Accountabilities

  • Ensure seamless collaboration, cooperation and coordination across P&S functions and at the interface with territories.
  • Address gaps and/or inconsistencies in planning and operations processes due to commercial initiatives or changed requirements and initiate corrective actions or projects.
  • To manage and coordinate cross-functional supply activities at the interface between supply and commercials, driving delivery and acting as central pivot across all functions
  • Monitor KPI’s in cooperation with department/business to support Planning & Operations performance analysis and follow up corrective improvement actions.
  • Drive change in business processes, ways of working, roles and responsibilities.
  • Work in partnership with all Commercial and P&S departments to ensure the optimization of inventory throughout the supply chain (Raw materials, bulk semi-finished products and finished goods), managing the trade-off between Customer service, Inventory investment and Production efficiency, across the S&OP framework.
  • To identify and challenge supply constraints affecting customer service or supply cost, providing transparency of these constraints and effectively interfacing with key stakeholders to lift them.
