Job description

Role purpose

  • Technology, Innovation & Digital Transformation, Partnerships and Shaping the Future.
  • Lead the functions of IT, Digital and NFE Strategy in Pakistan.
  • Support in Digital & NFE strategy development/planning /alignment for the market.
  • Identify global & regional initiatives and tailor them for local market implementation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve farmer experience (channels, partnerships, financing etc.).

Accountabilities

IT & Digital Transformation:

 

  • Define & execute Pakistan’s Digital transformation strategy based on market opportunities and available Syngenta digital agriculture technologies to drive CP sales, get closer to growers, and set foundation for future business models.
  • Create a culture promoting digital mindset and inspiring peers to adapt a mindset around data driven decisions.
  • Staying up to date with emerging technologies and trends in the Digital Agriculture industry.
  • Develop & maintain network of Digital Agriculture collaborators within/outside Pakistan. Act as primary point of contact for Global, AMEA, AME Region for all Digital Transformation topics.
  • Collaborate with Pakistan’s digital marketing team to optimize digital marketing campaigns and content through data-oriented segmentation, hyper-targeting and closing the lead to sales cycle.
  • Work with P&S digital transformation leads to enable use cases of GPD (global product digitization), Smart supply etc.
  • Establish performance management framework / KPIs to ensure successful delivery of aligned initiatives
  • IT & Internal Digitalization:
    • Manage IT helpdesk’s day-to-day operations, IT equipment procurement, LAN/WAN refresh projects etc.
    • Enterprise level digitalization:
      • Lead development, integrations and operations of Channel solution (Naya Savera Digital) and Field Force Solution (SmartAgro Lite).
      • Integrate CORE systems like OMS & POS with SAP (GSAP/S4 HANA)
      • Work closely with FF&P (Formulation, Filling & Packing) and P&S
      • (Production & Supply) to ensure delivery of GPD (Global products’ digitization), ensuring tracking and traceability of products through QR codes.
      • Digitalization of payments from Franchises to Syngenta
    • Digital AG/Product:
      • Drive product strategy for Digital AG, CXM and lead Data strategy.
      • Lead development, integrations and operations of Grower facing solutions including but not limited to Cropwise Grower, CRM, Naya Savera Online (e-Commerce), Chat bots etc.
      • Explore digital partnerships and create digital GTM to connect with growers at scale and lower the cost of acquisition and interaction/transaction with growers.
      • Lead growth of Cropwise grower and e-Commerce by planning and executing digital marketing campaigns (including paid media campaigns’ planning, design and execution through agencies).
      • Work with Digital Marketing team to create grower loyalty and farmers’ delight.
    • Digital Business Operations:
      • Manage day to day operations of digital business including but not limited to digital interactions with growers, franchises, sales force etc.
      • Push notifications for Cropwise grower application.
      • Day to day posting of content on social media through EMPLIFI.
      • Capture voice of the grower and franchises through digital tools including social media, WhatsApp, Calls/IVR etc.
      • Take responsibility of the growers’ data in CRM and be the single point of contact for data led content and campaigns.

New Farming Ecosystem Strategy:

 

  • Work with GM to develop mid - long term strategy for the Future.
  • Explore partnerships to have step change in farmer experience.  Build broader ecosystem of strong partnerships (Sustainability / environment, market access, drones etc.)
  • Identify and introduce initiatives to improve farmer experience (Channel improvement, solving for key farmer pain points)

Bring organization closer to the tech landscape of Pakistan by collaborating with key stakeholders (Digital/AgriTech players, NICs, Tech leaders etc.)


Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

Critical experience

  • At least 10 years of work experience with leading players in AgTech, Telcos, Fintech, consulting, or tech industry.
  • Must have worked at leadership positions
  • Good understanding of AgTech/Digital ecosystem of Pakistan. Hands-on experience with Digital products, UI/UX, AgTech etc.
  • Developing robust business plans/models, action plans for specific opportunities.
  • Working across borders – functions, regions and countries.
  • Project management, including communication & stakeholder management skills

Critical professional and personal capabilities

  • Understanding of digital platforms (ideation to roll-out).
  • Hands on experience with Google analytics, Firebase etc.
  • High performing cross functional team member.
  • Drives for value first, focused energy and customer orientated
  • Ability to work under pressure with many different projects & stakeholders.
  • Promotes a learning organization with the ability to develop & gain support for novel ways of working.
  • Excellent communicator, network creator, values collaborative diverse environments.
