Role purpose

This role has the overall responsibility for driving Crop Protection (CP) strategic projects, of varied topics related to the overall CP Business, with key cross-functional stakeholders.  In addition, the role drives the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the CP Business Planning activities and the recurring, cross product-line CP Portfolio activities.

Accountabilities

  • Drive projects with strategic importance to the CP Business at high quality, against agreed objectives, timelines, and budgets, and with the involvement of key stakeholders,e.g., GTM strategies, change management, etc.
  • Drive the regular review and cascading of the CP Strategy and the translation into Strategic Agendas for the regional Marketing Leadership Team
  • Lead the annual review, optimization and execution of the CP Business Planning cycle for AMEA, ensuring clear guidance for countries to support the process.
  • Drive the adoption and rigor in the portfolio prioritization process. Ensure understanding and buy-in with all key stakeholders.
  • Drive and support key analyses on 5 year business plans across the company and/or the R&D portfolio to enable decisions to accelerate growth and optimize the use of resources
  • Lead the annual Portfolio Reviews in the region, and coordinate the alignment between Global, Region and country teams.
  • Build a strong digital market research capability and use available data to create insights.  Support creation of KPIs that measure performance of our portfolio in an efficient and objective way.
  • Own the market share collection and update through country and CLA inputs.
  • Lead the roll-out and continuous improvement of key tools used by especially the commercial teams globally for planning (I-Plan) and portfolio visibility (Development Portfolio Report)

Support the RMLT in the organization of their regular meetings.

  • Understanding of Syngenta organization and ways-of-working
  • Understanding of how different Syngenta functions and geographies operate
  • Understanding of external environment, including key competitors

  • Managing projects with significant complexity
  • Dealing with (groups of) senior stakeholders

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities

  • Managing projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Structuring and analyzing significant data sets and driving insights from them
  • Communicating effectively and efficiently by solid structuring and focusing, suitable for senior stakeholders exposure
  • Setting of priorities and goals
  • Managing own agenda with multiple simultaneous activities
