In this particular role, you will evaluate opportunities to improve PCFs (product Carbon Footprints) across all Syngenta Chemical Sourcing activities and validate the potential benefits. You will also validate the data and ensure it meets Syngenta Standards / TfS Standards. You will support building management of sustainability as a capability in the Global Sourcing organization by ensuring learning is captured and adequately shared. You will play a vital role in developing our approach to decarbonizing our supply chains. You have significant experience in chemical sourcing and ideally a good grasp of sustainability concepts. You enjoy taking an active role in shaping our future ways of working and bring a hands-on and can-do approach to any task. You are a team player, used to working in matrix organizations, and are very good at sharing concepts and content in a tailored way so that it is easy for a wide array of stakeholders to understand and follow. You are comfortable representing Syngenta’s interests in external forums.


Qualifications

We are hiring for several roles and looking to recruit a diverse team with a broad background. Do you possess some of the following skills?

  • Experience of a complex Sourcing and/or Supply Chain Operations environment
  • Experience of fine chemical process development and/or manufacturing is preferred (chemistry / process engineering background is essential)
  • Knowledge of process or energy engineering and experience in a chemical production environment, areas of focus include energy management, thermal energy technology, waste treatment, recycling, and wastewater treatment
  • Understanding of environmental impact and sustainability assessment concepts (e.g., LCA), ideally knowledge of reporting frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, Environmental Product Footprints, ISO) and environmental regulations
  • Analytical thinking and understanding of statistics and data management.
  • Ability to work independently and evolve new ways of working which can be deployed across the organisation
