We have an exciting opportunity for a Global Quality Governance Lead in Manchester. The role is responsible for establishing and ensuring the effectiveness of the Syngenta Crop Protection Quality Management System its development and continuous improvement, providing technical expertise and guidance to the global head of quality and the regional quality leads and quality professionals on QMS elements and lead the team of Quality Management System Auditors and data specialists.

Responsibilities/accountabilities will include (but are not limited to): 

  • Design, maintain, develop and improve the Syngenta CP Quality Management System and its processes.
  • Support the quality plan, defining the quality orientation,objectives, actions. Provide smooth communication around quality (Q- Flash – Q-Day…).
  • Provide stakeholders guidance, support and leadership to implement the Quality Management System.
  • Maintain specialist knowledge and awareness of external developments in quality and bring them into the Syngenta Quality Management System
  • Manage the Quality Audit program . Ensure audits do drive and support performance improvements and bring  visibility to the business (providing input and insights into compliance and risk forums). Ensure auditing capability is provided and maintained within the business units.
  • Define key quality indicators together with the Global Quality Leadership Team that are actionable and demonstrate performance against operational and strategic goals.
  • Support regions for the improvement of quality data reporting.
  • Lead the design of Quality Systems tools to ensure effective and efficient application in the business.
  • Steward identification and implementation of computerized systems to manage control of documents, nonconformities and improvement actions, audits and other quality related deliverables.
  • Lead the team of QMS auditors and data specialists  and develop the organizational capabilities necessary to excel in delivery of the team goals. Drive continuous improvement in the performance of the team.
  •  Prepare and support the CP Quality management review.

Qualifications

What we are looking for 

We are highly people-focused – we look for professionals who are engaged, collaborative and excellent in execution. Our industry and our function are changing rapidly so we are looking for new team members with a strong desire to develop themselves. You will be a great fit if you have: 

  • 10 years+ experience in working with quality management systems and in a continuous improvement environment within a sizable manufacturing or R&D organization.
  • Excellent command of English. Other languages would be a distinct advantage.
  • BSc / MSc in Life Sciences or Engineering, advanced degree preferred.
  • Project Management including implementation of IT projects.
  • Experience in an operational quality role.
  • Experience with quality management software solutions.
  • Demostrated ability to work collaboratively in team settings and within matrix organizations to achieve objectives.
  • Certified Quality Auditor.
  • Expert knowledge of quality management systems and in software design for scientific and quality management solutions.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, focus on and obtain business results within deadlines.

Additional Information

The role is based in our Global Operations Centre in Manchester. This is a hybrid contract, with a minimum 2 days per week to be worked in the office, with remote working available for the remainder of the week (for the first few months, there may be a requirement to spend up to 3 days per week onsite). The site is a local hub for worldwide operations, ensuring growers, globally, have access to the right product at the right time. You will find a dynamic and agile working environment, with a diverse and inclusive culture, with more than 200 employees working on Syngenta’s site.
