Job description

We're seeking a Global Manufacturing Excellence Change Agent to optimize production operations and drive performance improvements across our manufacturing facilities. This role combines operational expertise with change management to enhance productivity and establish sustainable manufacturing practices. As our Manufacturing Excellence Change Agent, you'll diagnose operational challenges and implement solutions that transform our production performance. You'll work closely with manufacturing teams to embed best practices and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Conduct “fast-track” diagnostic on specific area of expertise (such as production, maintenance, costs, and behaviors) to identify efficiency improvements and create action plans
  • Support local Manufacturing Excellence team in developing organization capability
  • Partner with experts to implement and standardize new capabilities while conducting system audits and promoting data-driven performance improvements on Syngenta Production System
  • Coach leaders and train employees in standardized practices

Qualifications and required experience

  • MS/BS in Industrial, Engineering or Chemical sciences, or a 5-year technical degree in related discipline
  • Proven experience working within a manufacturing site Production’s department (or equivalent experience in Maintenance, Engineering, or Operation Excellence) ideally, with involvement in transformation projects focusing on manufacturing problematics
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing site cost-structures with experience in deployment of cost-competitiveness
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills will be required to convince key stakeholders of the need for change
  • Ability to access and utilize complex and conflicting data systems, including SAP, data warehouses, etc.
  • Strong capability to develop, coach & teach others
  • Must be mobile to travel and accompany project activity whenever required on sites

Additional Information

Travel – up to 60% travel, as part of the role, sometimes at short notice. Mobility to travel and accompany project activity whenever required on sites is essential.

The is a preference for the role of being based in Manchester, but other locations within the UK can be considered.
