The chemical regulation landscape is rapidly changing with an unprecedented growth in emerging regulations around the globe, which is contributing to an ever more complex regulatory environment. We are currently seeking a Global Chemical Regulatory Manager to join a dedicated team with an ambition to proactively support the business in navigating these regulatory challenges.

The candidate will have the right balance of chemistry and regulatory experience, a keen appreciation of the value of product stewardship as well as the personal leadership capabilities to excel in such a complex and changing environment. Furthermore, they will provide technical expertise as required for support in areas of chemical sourcing, active ingredient or product manufacturing, and regulatory compliance, as well as leading the regulatory science for global projects related to new and existing substances.

As a Global Chemical Regulatory Manager, you will:

  • Be part of an expert team for chemical legislation in a cross-functional organization and liaise with global and regional regulatory functions which support plant protection products
  • Develop global registration strategies for co-formulants and active ingredient intermediates
  • Provide regulatory expertise and advice to business partners for designated raw materials and co-formulants, to ensure ongoing compliance and business sustainability
  • Act as project manager for a portfolio of projects, developing and implementing project plans that involve generation of new data or issue management and which lead to successful registrations
  • Track regulatory databases and proactively identify potential issues and opportunities for designated substances
  • Provide high quality documents for regulatory submissions
  • Prepare REACH registrations in IUCLID
  • Keep current with the changing regulatory environment and proactively communicate the potential impact of emerging regulations
  • Create and maintain regulatory information and documentation for compliance with country specific chemical legislation

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • PhD in chemistry, ecotoxicology, toxicology or a relevant scientific discipline
  • Ideally 3 years of working experience in product safety and regulatory affairs. More experienced candidates are welcome to apply.
  • Knowledge of important global registration requirements and processes would be advantageous (e.g. REACH, K-REACH, TSCA, Order No. 12)
  • Experience in preparation and submission of REACH registration dossiers in IUCLID would be advantageous
  • Good judgment in managing issues and escalating as required
  • Project management skills
  • Proven ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships within teams and across functional and national interfaces
  • Capacity to analyse and summarize complex data and information
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, with other languages an advantage
