Objective:
The Legal Manager position is a strategic role, providing broad legal and compliance oversight, guidance and counseling to the business leaders and participating on the Brazil Legal leadership team. This is a leadership role with high exposure on a country different local and regional level. It is also an operational role as a legal advisor and business partner to the company, requiring a hands-on approach and “business partner” mentality. 
 

Responsibilities:
•    Act as Legal Business Partner and focal point for the Commercial Platform, including its subordinated legal entities;
•    Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements in several areas, including distribution, supply, and sales agreements;
•    Supporting strategic projects, such as those impacting our distribution networks strategy and go-to-market models (including but not limited, M&A, JVCs, collaborative and/or, partnership agreements);
•    Engaging with the business and functions to ensure compliance by aiding in the continued development, aligning with key stakeholders on legal priorities, training and educational needs and consistent compliance and Data Protection efforts;
•    Becoming an active member of the Brazilian Legal Leadership Team, advising on a broad range of corporate matters including strategic partnerships, complex commercial deals, compliance issues, risk assessment and external engagement activities;
•    Monitoring and analyzing critical new legislation and regulations that may impact the business or its reputation in Brazil and leading the litigation strategy and coordination of the external law firms;
•    Managing legal and corporate governance structures for the Commercial Platform, in coordination with corporate legal, tax and finance colleagues;
•    Working with other members of the Legal team in Brazil to develop and optimize systems and processes for effectiveness aiming efficiency and collaboration;
•    Be comfortable answering different questions, solving uncharted problems, and working collaboratively with the business teams to meet the needs of our fast-paced environment;
•    Ability to influence others to drive action and unlock problems, without creating disruption and while defending recommendations throughout the company;
•    Effective communication and presentation skills directed to sophisticated audiences, including the ability to synthetize complex information into executive messages clearly articulating the alternatives and strategies into recommendations to mitigate and balance the risks to the company.


Qualifications

Requiriments:
•    Experience as a corporate attorney;
•    Evident capability in understanding legal and regulatory concepts and turn them into relevant and practical commercial advices;
•    Experience in contracts, corporate law, labor law and other fields of legal business;
•    Solid experience in negotiation with clients and key suppliers as well as considerable commercial transactional experience;
•    Knowledge in economy, finance (budget, cost/income, cash flow, basic accounting);
•    Demonstrated experience with commercial agreements, negotiations, mergers & acquisitions, transactions, and general corporate matters;
•    Great communication ability to influence internal and external people;
•    Ability to be “hands-on” while bringing a strategic vision;
•    High level of self-motivation and high degree of integrity;
•    Project driven, entrepreneurial skills, work under pressure;
•    Advanced stakeholder management;
•    English fluent.
