Purpose:

  • The Fleet Operations Manager aims to provide operational and strategic leadership for the fleet operations. It covers all fleet operations and a wide range of responsibilities such as supply chain performance & vendor management, budget management, CAPEX, compliance, data management and reporting.
  • With Indirect Procurement, business functions leaders, fleet suppliers the FOM drives the implementation and good execution of the agreed company fleet strategy and operational excellence.
  • The FOM works with the fleet suppliers in his/her geography of accountability, to continuously identify improvements to the service provided and areas where savings are made without reducing service quality.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage in compliance with all national / international rules and regulations, the full operative aspect of fleet for all business units 
  • Ensure fleet availability to meet all requests by scheduling, forecasting, and surveying current user trends
  • Ensure compliance with all global / regional strategic fleet initiatives including TCO reduction, continuous improvement and innovation
  • Liaise with the fleet suppliers, Indirect Procurement team, Syngenta personnel, key internal stakeholders to support the smooth delivery 
  • Act as the first escalation point for Syngenta personnel and fleet supply chain for any issue  from the outsourced fleet management partners
  • Provide consultation to personnel concerning vehicle maintenance, repair, and procurement; respond to inquiries, resolve issues and conflicts
  • Ensure that all sites and activities meet all internal and external legal, HSEQ, letter of assurance, fiscal and compliance requirements and that all corporate standards are understood and implemented appropriately, report any gaps  
  • Manage all reporting requirements and day-to-day business needs with Syngenta fleet-related services and providers: fleet management, leasing, OEM, maintenance/service, fuel, resale, regulations, etc.
  • Maintain the company Fleet Management System (FMS) and specific data bases of sales, lease, registration, inspections, fuel and maintenance
  • Review the supplier delivery against the key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) for the geography of accountability
  • Lead supplier business review on monthly, quarterly/country level (MBR) 
  • Assume Legal responsibility for fleet operations and ensure that Legal and compliance accountability (e.g. DOT, OSHA, SOX, IFRS16, LoA) is clear 
  • Driver training programs (i.e. driver safety and compliance)

Qualifications

Experience and knowledge:

  • University degree
  • English and Hungarian language knowledge
  • Very good level in Excel and Microsoft office
  • Valid driver license
  • Taste for vehicles and overall knowledge of new mobility
  • Working knowledge of the contracts management in relation to the provision of services to the countries, including the related service level agreements 
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for DOT, OSHA, local and national laws, and regulations
  • Experience of managing 3rd party suppliers, including contract management and the operation of SLAs and KPIs
  • Health & Safety requirements and how they can be best implemented
  • HSE qualification would be a plus
