Job description

Role Purpose

  • Responsible for Egypt IFRS and Statutory, Treasury management, audits (F/S & Taxation)
  • A high-impact Role combines Business partnering, Operations and Country TFCM responsibilities
  • Member of Egypt Leadership Team
  • Delivers a key service through a team and leads complex and significant tasks and projects of regional or global scope
  • Member of Board of Director

Accountabilities

  • Leading, developing and engaging Egypt Finance Team
  • Manage all financial aspects of the commercial operations including actuals, budget and forecast
  • Communicate financial and accounting information and trends to the Commercial team to ensure that real-time business decisions can be made based on sound financial data
  • Financial reporting and controlling in accordance with IFRS and group standards, statutory reporting (IFRS translation)
  • Liaising and coordinating with external and internal audit
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, especially for tax and statutory accounts purposes.
  • Liquidity management
  • Intercompany-Coordination and support of Group controlling in internal & external reporting
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Act as Egypt TFCM, interacts with customers.

Critical Success Factors & Key Challenges

  • Required to interpret internal or external business issues and recommend solutions/best practices on a regular basis
  • Ensure full compliance of TFCM processes as implemented (incl. SOX)
  • Meet all reporting deadlines in respect of the company and local fiscal and audit requirements
  • Good communication competence both within the country and with customers to deliver high quality TFCM data / information / support
  • Ensure that tax transactions are meeting the local tax requirments to reduce the tax burden

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities

 

Critical experience

  • 12 - 15 years professional experience and at least 2 years in similar position. 
  • Understanding and effective communication of TFCM policies and procedures to non-financial staff
  • Good working knowledge of the local market environment
  • Good understanding of Microsoft office products
  • Familiar with working in a complex matrix and international environment
  • Accounting Qualification

Critical knowledge

  • Thorough understanding of financial statements and key ratios, and their meanings to creditworthiness of customers
  • Understanding of risk mitigation tools in the country
  • Knowledge of the country’s economics, Syngenta’s customer base, and the general business environment
  • Good knowledge of the company’s ERP systems, ability to manage the required steps for an effective credit management.
