Role purpose

  • Develop and direct regional cereals business strategies and plans to achieve the agreed profit and volume goals for the (relevant) region, consistent with overall Sales and Marketing strategy.
  • First line of contact with the customers (Co-operative, agent, grower) in terms of technical support, product positioning recommendations and training. Identify, define, establish and maintain influential relationships with relevant institutes and key Seeds industry leaders
  • Ensure sustainable balance is maintain between seed demand and production / supply
  • Delivery of Agronomy cereals field trials to generate sales and product advancement data

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for collecting, handling, treating and cleaning of breeder seed at the SENSAKO Napier site Western Cape.
  • Responsible for all Breeder, Foundation, inspection, and certification of seed productions from orders from licensed Agricultural businesses.
  • Responsible for all processing, treatment, bagging and labelling according to National Sansor and Dep Agricultural specifications.
  • Ensure the quality of seed comply with Certification requirements of Sansor & internal standards.
  • Collect feedback on quality and Service as seen by the customers; correct issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Coordinate sales quantities, sale excess seed and transportation
  • Coordinate collection of seed sale invoicing and royalties
  • Contracting of hectares to enable delivery of the required seed volumes per crop.
  • Deliver the agreed volumes as per production plan
  • Ensure availability of foundation seed in time at the agreed quantities and within quality and purity specifications
  • First line of contact with the customer (Co-operative, agent, grower) in terms of technical support, recommendations and training.
  • Develop and direct regional business strategies and plans consistent with overall marketing and sales strategy.
  • Develop Market Information, Budgets, Forecasts, Business Planning, Partnership Agreements
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel at assigned customer accounts
  • Responsible for all Farmers days, Sponsorship, Cultivar presentations and development, Product branding visibility, Promotion and Marketing activities for the region
  • Provide guidance and advice to producers regarding different cereals crops & cultivation practice

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities

Critical qualifications:

  • Post gradutate degree / master’s degree in agriculture, Agronomy or equivalent
  • 5 years cereals seed production experience Western Cape will be key
  • Authorised SANSOR inspector advantage
  • Sales managemnet or key account managanement experience
  • Experience and knowledge of cereals Seed market, marketplace dynamics, competitive environments, and customer
