Job description

Responsibilities

  • Phenotyping Protocols: Assist in the development and implementation of phenotyping protocols for soybean and hybrid wheat, including plant imaging, trait measurements, and data collection using advanced phenotyping technologies.
  • Data Analysis: Contribute to the analysis of phenotypic data, including image processing, feature extraction, and statistical analysis to identify key traits and patterns relevant to soybean and hybrid wheat breeding programs.
  • Field Work: Participate in field-based phenotyping activities, including experimental design, data collection, and maintenance of field trial plots.
  • Research Support: Collaborate with the research team to support ongoing projects, literature reviews, and experimental design for phenomics studies.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, data, and results. Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations summarizing research findings.

This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in plant phenotyping, data analysis, and research support within a dynamic agricultural research environment.

Location: Stanton, MN or RTP, NC


Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. degree program in plant science, agronomy, genetics, or related field.
  • Must be a current student continuing education upon completion of co-op term (graduation date of May 2026 or after)
  • Strong interest in plant phenotyping, genetics, and agricultural research.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as R, SQL, Python, and related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Prior experience with plant phenotyping, agricultural field research, or laboratory science is a plus.
