Job description

Role purpose

To assist in organizing and maintaining all aspects of the farm operation so that the trial program is carried out in a timely, effectively, and cost-efficient way.

Dimensions:

  • People: Directly managed: 12-15 external fulltime workers and warehouse keepers. Indirectly managed: No
  • Geographic Scope: Kaha Site and offsite CPD activities - Egypt

You will carry out the following responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for overall coordination of farm operations including, maintenance plans, daily routine operations, HSE & QMS elements, car drivers, and warehouses operations.
  • Assist to develop long term plan for crop rotation, weed management, fertilization regime in consultation with operational Farm Manager.
  • To assist in consultation with Farm Manager supervise and direct execution of a monthly and weekly work plan which includes irrigation, planting, cultivation, and maintenance applications
  • Keep written records of all major farm operations and to ensure availability of needed stock of fertilizers, seeds, special supplies, and chemical standards required for trial activities
  •  keep weekly time sheet for all farm staff according to station requirements
  • To keep records of entering or leaving products from Kaha store, establish inventory and maintain records on arrival and issue delivery notes when they are transferred out.
  • To make sure that maintenance of machinery and equipment’s is carried out according to schedule and all equipment’s are 100% operationally safe.
  • To ensure that persons assigned to work with the equipment are trained and competent to operate it safely.
  • To assist Maintenance of all station assets in good condition and according to Syngenta safety standards
  • Assist in HSE tasks assigned by Farm Manager.

Qualifications

Critical Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • B. Sc in Agronomy or Agricultural Engineering.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in the Agricultural sector.
  • Good understanding of agronomy and crop management practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of irrigation practices.
  • Understanding of warehouse management.
  • Track record of delivery.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Solid computer skills.
  • NEBOSH Certificate is preferred.
