Job description

To support this mission, Syngenta's Tax Management Team is seeking a Non-Income Tax Manager in Wilmington, DE. This role will be responsible for the preparation and review of sales and use tax returns.

Accountabilities:

  • Be a valued member of the tax team with responsibility for US indirect taxes.
  • Oversee indirect tax operations for the US.
  • Prepare and review property tax filings.
  • Manage sales tax audits.
  • Manage property tax audits.
  • Proactively monitor tax law changes.
  • Assist in the design and evolution of US indirect tax function after recent implementation of consistent modern tax tools.
  • Proactively manage internal relationships to support business growth.
  • Ability to thrive in a small team environment.
  • Flexible, open to challenges, and willing to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Extremely organized and able to handle multiple projects at a time.

Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of sales and use tax laws and operations, as well as property tax laws.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Prior experience in the preparation and review of sales and use tax returns and property tax returns.
  • Prior experience in managing audits.
  • Strong analytical abilities and the ability to make decisions and recommendations.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with various computer applications, including MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Proficiency with specialized tax application software, such as OneSource Indirect Compliance (Sabrix) and OneSource Property Tax, or similar software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
