District Manager, Turf and Ornamentals

Please note: This position will support the Northeast US States. This role can be supported remotely from within the NE USA region. Optimal support locations are in the Pennsylvania/New Jersey area.

Accountabilities:

• Manage, coach, develop and motivate a sales team to deliver Northeast SPS and district sales achievement through profitable market share growth and trusted partnerships.
• Actively participate on the SPS Sales leadership team in the development of the business strategies and implement campaign tactics and sales plans to meet annual financial objectives.
• Develop strong regional distributor account relationships in conjunction with KAM head office relationships, to implement SPS sales and marketing solutions.  Coordinate activities of KAM and sales team, to focus on end-user demand.
• Hire, develop and provide leadership to sales representatives to reach corporate and personal growth objectives by coaching them through difficult situations, setting performance goals, conducting ongoing reviews, providing guidance and clarity on Syngenta strategies, and ensuring appropriate training is provided and/or accessible.
• Lead sales planning/activities by setting targets and direction for the team to deliver the SPS business plan.
• Implement the campaign and sales plans with sales team as well as regional customers to ensure success of sales achievement and redemption at both the end user and distributor level while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the district.
• Prepare, manage, and achieve annual District expense and sales budgets.  Facilitate a field up sales plan of on-ground sales with input from sales team and customers based on current strategy and business plans.
• Collaborate with HR in the areas of recruiting, role profiles, performance management, salary management and employee development.
• Actively participate on the SPS Sales Leadership Team to enable the Leadership Model and implement organizational change required to deliver the business strategy.

Required:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Ag related discipline.
• Experience in the Professional Solutions market in sales and/or marketing role.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship support from Syngenta.

Preferred:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in agri-business industry, and/or related role. 
• Comprehension of the North American professional solutions markets and the regulations and policies that affect these markets. 
• Knowledge of the Professional Solutions business and overall Syngenta offerings.
• Knowledge of key distributors and partners.
• Knowledge of financial analysis and business principles.
