District Manager

We have a Flexible Work Location approach and this role can be based in Calgary, AB, or remotely anywhere in Southern Alberta (i.e. Lethbridge, Strathmore).

Duties:

• Manage, coach, develop and lead a sales team to deliver the overall business objectives set out by the company.
• Actively participate on the National Sales Leadership Team in the development of business strategies.
• Implement campaign tactics and sales plans to meet annual financial objectives.
• Act as member of Western Management Team (WMT) to ensure that appropriate offers are developed and delivered to defined customer targets.
• Develop strong regional distributor account relationships in conjunction with Key Account Manager (KAM) head office relationships, to implement account strategies to support portfolio growth.
• Coordinate activities of KAM and sales team focused on creating end-user demand.
• Develop a strong Syngenta Team, in support of the corporate culture.
• 25% travel required.

• Bachelor of Science in Agriculture or Bachelor of Commerce, plus 8 years experience within sales or marketing in agribusiness, preferably crop protection or seed.
• Strong understanding of marketing and sales principles and best practices, including clear understanding of customer segmentation models.
• Clear and effective decision-making, with an emphasis on a data-driven approach.
• Ability to effectively manage conflict.
• Understanding of best practice marketing plan development and an ability to coach team to develop a compelling sales plan.
• Working knowledge and skill with Salesforce.com.
