Role purpose:

  • Key elements of the role shall include but not be limited to: 
  • Accountability for the spend for some of the categories in the scope of Direct procurement, namely Co-formulants/Raw Materials, Packaging materials and labels required for the production of CP formulations, 3rd party P2P products, Active ingredients and formulations, Tolling management. 
  • Budget the entire spend of Direct procurement based on the regional guidance of budgeting, up-loading the budgets into SAP and monitoring PPV against budgets on quarterly basis to meet the required saving targets. 
  • Ownership of processes in the Procurement Cycle: development of sourcing strategies, competitive bidding, vendor selection, contract negotiation, contract management, supplier relationship management. Emphasis on ownership of the spend, and the relationships to the suppliers. 
  • Cost efficient procurement of materials and services belonging to all Direct procurement spend categories, in a way that fully meets the needs of our Business. 
  • Develop, agree and implement KPIs for suppliers, service levels and supplier management
  • To provide local market knowledge / intelligence / expertise for supply markets within the portfolio to stakeholders and other country, regional and global category managers. 
  • Strategic supplier development for various categories to support the growth for the Indian market. 
  • Participate as an active member in sub-regional and regional Direct procurement team meetings
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities for various categories 
  • Quality management at supplier by implementing the quality standards and contracts 
  • especially for Packing materials 
  • Work on risk mitigation of products in various categories, by developing alternate suppliers / locali-cation of suppliers / improving technical capability of suppliers / standardization of  specifications / work on reducing quality complaints 
  • Track price of inputs namely paper/polymer/steel/crude oil feedstocks, Make best use of MI to be able to source at most competitive prices in various categories 
  • Leading projects for alternate source/localization/standardization for various categories as per agreed timelines by working with cross functional teams namely technical/quality/tolling/packaging development teams in India and region 
  • Provide local market intelligence for assigned portfolio 
  • Work closely with cross functional teams namely local Production, PM development, artwork team, vendor schedulers, planning, quality, PT&E, Supply Operations and Finance teams to ensure a smooth operation of the complete Procure-to-Pay cycle. 

Accountabilities:

  • Manage some of the categories in the scope of Direct procurement, namely Co-formulants/Raw Materials, Packaging materials and labels required for the production of CP formulations, 3rd party P2P products, Active ingredients and formulations, Tolling management
  • Strategic supplier development for various categories to support the growth for the Indian market. 
  • Effective usage of procurement e-tools (PCM, knowledge platform, KPI dashboard, sourcing Hand-book platform etc), Learn and use new tools which are introduced from time to time 
  • Support NPIs and third party products for India business by working closely with cross functional teams in India 
  • Provide timely support in raising OLAs in time and in full as support to vendor scheduling / planning 
  • Ensure DP KPI are met namely PAF uploading on SHB SharePoint / uploading of visit reports on knowledge platform / uploading contracts on PCM tool 
  • Ensure that ICF compliance are given importance and all the ICF reports are uploaded every month in time 
  • 100% compliance to global Direct Procurement policy, Demonstrate compliance with Procurement Policy and processes.

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities:
Critical knowledge
:

  • In depth understanding of how the Production and Supply Operations function in the 
  • local environment
  • Good knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures and why we have them
  • Good knowledge of supply markets and dependent cost drivers. 
  • Strong background in use of SAP and reporting analytical tools

Critical experience:

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills; ability to work in cross functional teams; organization skills
  • Business acumen
  • Strong implementation skills 
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent Presentation Skills
  • Excellent communication skills 

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:

  • Qualification-Enginner/Chemistry graduate is preferable, MBA/Master degree in Supply Chain/Procurement/CIPS or ISM degree is preferable 
  • Experience-10 years’ experience of working in a procurement / sourcing role, Experience 
  • of working in chemical/agro chemcial companies is preferable  
  • International exposure and experience of working within a global structure in MNC is preferable

  • Delivery of KPI of cost savings of 1-2% yoy on spend 
  • Delivery of alternate source/localication/standardisation projects as per agreed timelines 
  • Risk management / mitigation for various categories
  • Supplier strategies and SRM for various categories 

Additional information:

  • Travelling for supplier audits of various categories as per audit plan 
  • Travelling for new supplier development in various categories 
  • travelling to our tolling sites as per requirement
