As a vital member of our global product team, you will tackle challenging problems and develop solutions that drive value for our business. Your role will involve a close collaboration with product design and engineering teams to ideate and discover effective solutions, and you will work in unison to bring these solutions to fruition. You will engage with cross-functional teams to define and achieve key results that align with our business objectives. Your responsibility extends to driving the development and execution of digital products, providing technical expertise, and guiding the enhancement of our digital agriculture offerings and R&D solutions. As a strategic leader, you will spearhead the planning and roadmap development, ensuring the successful implementation and widespread adoption of data science and analytics solutions. By continuously monitoring product usage, you will identify opportunities for growth and implement critical improvements to maximize value for our customers and our business.

Accountabilities

  • Product Discovery & Development: The scientific innovation is at the heart of R&D. The Product Manager will deeply understand the scientific nature of the business, our customers, their challenges, and their goals. This understanding will drive a customer-centric product development process, grounded in valuable insights from our users. Regular experiments will be conducted to test new ideas and functionalities, with rapid iterations based on customer feedback. It's essential to understand the principles of product design, engineering, and adoption within R&D ecosystem.
  • Execution & Delivery: Ensure engineering teams are aligned with the vision and working towards delivery goals. Achieve efficient delivery via fostering a culture of accountability and self-organized scrum teams. Be brave and creative in improving engineering productivity by removing impediments for the team.
  • Product Team: It is vital to collaborate with Solution Owners, Product Owners and SME groups in effectively communicating on the product vision, strategy, and development status to ensure clear expectations are set and managed. Regularly sharing key successes and challenges with local and regional stakeholders from various functional domains to ideate, gather and enhance the product backlog.
  • Product analytics: Continuously improve product performance and user experience through data-driven insights. Establish, track, and present the product’s performance metrics with senior management to align the outcomes with Objectives and Key Results.
  • Business Analysis: Apply proper analysis techniques to ensure the targeted solutions align with intended business outcomes. Maximize engineering efficiency through identification and articulation of valid user epics and stories.
  • Collaboration with Engineering: Speak thoughtfully with engineers and help make technical trade-offs when building products and features. Shape solutions by modelling domains and estimating roughly the size and difficulty of new developments. Also, uphold high standards of data privacy and security in all aspects of product management.
  • Cross Team Collaboration: Working as part of a global product team, ensuring close collaboration with the product management, engineering, and other value streams is a must. Managing connectivity and communication effectively across multiple time zones. Collaborating with wider country and regional teams to maintain alignment on the final product outcomes.

Qualifications

Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred.  A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field is desirable.
  • Proven Experience: A track record of at least 3 years implementing global products with positive business outcomes, including taking products from inception to global markets and driving growth.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Experience in managing the entire product lifecycle, from conceptualization to launch, with a keen understanding of customer needs and market dynamics.
  • Data Proficiency: Knowledge of data management, visualization tools, and data analytics is essential.
  • Product Discovery & Delivery: Demonstrated understanding of modern product discovery and delivery techniques and methods.
  • Leadership & Influence: Ability to influence stakeholders and senior management on product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Mentorship: Experience in mentoring junior product managers, fostering a culture of inquiry and learning, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are mandatory, with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas effectively to both business and ITleaders in verbal and written forms.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, with a solid understanding of Agile principles.
  • Strategic Thinking: Capacity to maintain a big-picture perspective, identifying potential opportunities and risks in product design and implementation.
  • Negotiation & Customer Focus: Strong influencing and negotiation skills with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate complex concepts to a diverse range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Change Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive product adoption across the organization.

Preferred

  • Prior experience with agricultural products, such as crop trailing or plant breeding platforms, is highly advantageous.
  • A good understanding of the agricultural sector, with direct industry experience preferred.
  • Candidates with a strong technology background coupled with solid agricultural domain knowledge will be considered highly favorable.
