As a Dietary Exposure Expert, you will be part of a diverse team that provides dietary residue technical inputs for new active ingredient development and support for registered active ingredients. You will be developing the science strategy to meet the techno-regulatory requirements to build and ensure best-in-class submission packages to support the maintenance, re-registration, and development of crop protection products for Syngenta in Canada and the United States.

You will:

  • Design, implement and lead the dietary exposure strategy for the development and registration of new active ingredients/products and maintenance of registered active ingredients/products within North America.
  • Collaborate with the Field Study and Analytical Teams to drive the deliverables and design for residue studies.
  • Contextualizing results by utilizing metabolism and dietary residue data to inform and guide regulatory and commercial strategy.
  • Creating and implementing strategies to address emerging issues and opportunities in North America to support new active ingredient registration, and continued approval of registered active ingredients
  • Effectively interface and advocate the dietary science strategy to regional/global Product Safety partners, Regulatory, Stewardship and Business partners, as well as external stakeholders such as regulatory authorities.  

 


Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. or M. Sc preferred in agronomy, horticulture, entomology, pathology, weed science, ecotoxicology, soil science, toxicology, environmental sciences, or other relevant disciplines; applicants with commensurate industrial, academic or governmental experience will be considered  
  • 3+ years of experience in residue science, agricultural chemical product development, or similar preferred 
  • The ideal candidate will have prior knowledge of dietary residue techno-regulatory requirements and concepts, especially those relevant to North America, the US or Canada (such as those adopted by the EPA or PMRA)
  • Ability to evaluate, interpret and summarize scientific data from guideline dietary residue studies.
  • Ability to develop a science position and communicate it to internal and external stakeholders including regulators
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to gain commitment from both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize work effectively
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Travel Requirements: some domestic and international travel is required (≤ 5%)
