The role of the Data Privacy Specialist is to help Syngenta Group ensure compliance with data privacy laws, protect personal information, and prevent unauthorized access, use or disclosure of sensitive data.

We all have a critical role to play and add value. Here is how this role will help:

  • Conduct privacy assessments and investigations of the organization's data processing activities to identify any risks or gaps in compliance with privacy laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with key functions like IT & HR to ensure data protection controls are integrated into the organization's supporting systems
  • Monitor and respond to data privacy queries, including questions related to utilization of OneTrust tool
  • Providing support with deployment of the OneTrust management system to a jurisdiction within Syngenta Group
  • Develop policies and guidelines to ensure the organization is compliant with data privacy rules and regulations
  • Develop and deliver training: together with the core privacy team design and provide training sessions for employees on how to comply with data protection regulations, particularly with regard to the handling and storage of personal data
  • Monitor compliance: Regularly review and monitor the organization's compliance with data privacy laws and guidelines to ensure that any privacy risks or threats are identified and resolved as soon as possible
  • Incident management and response: in conjunction with privacy team are accountable for the implementation of an incident management and response plan to handle privacy incidents that may happen in the course of the organization's operations
  • Stay informed and educate the organization: Continuous education and raising awareness on the importance of data privacy compliance to staff and leaders help ensure accountability within the organization.

Qualifications

At Syngenta we are highly people focused – we look for professionals who are engaged, collaborative and excellent in execution. Leaders are expected to communicate effectively, develop teams and lead by example. Our industry and our function are changing rapidly so we are looking for new team members with a strong desire to develop themselves. 

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience dealing with GDPR related questions & or implementing processes in support of GDPR compliance
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with OneTrust (OT) or equivalent data protection management system (OT certification in particular data mapping and assessment automation modules is a plus)
  • CIPP/E, CIPP/M or CIPT
  • Experience of process mapping & supporting on data privacy impact assessments
  • Supporting clients on related query resolution and problem solving
  • Implementation of tools & processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work very well across functions and cultures at all level, internally and externally
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proactive, autonomous and flexible personality with very good organizational skills.
