We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity to join our Logistics & Shipping team based at our International Research Centre in Bracknell, Berkshire. As a Shipping Administrator you will support our research operations, providing a vital role in ensuring compliancy in the global shipment of chemical and biological materials. The successful applicant will have previous shipping experience in the field of dangerous goods and non-hazardous materials, chemical or biological, and ideally be fully trained in accordance with ADR and IATA regulations.

Accountabilities:

As a Shipping Administrator you will be responsible for:

  • Processing internal customer shipping requests. The creation of Dangerous Goods Notes, shipping labels, proforma invoices, and all other relevant shipping documentation
  • Ensuring Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) compliance, referring to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to determine transportation in accordance with IATA & ADR regulations, including any country specific requirements
  • Sourcing HS tariff codes for international shipments
  • Collaborating with internal customers to ensure any relevant regulatory documentation is provided with the shipping request
  • Tracking the progress of shipments and assisting customers with any customs clearance issues
  • Interacting with shipping software systems used by couriers as required

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • IATA and/or ADR certification preferred but relevant training will be provided

Knowledge, experience & capabilities:

  • Experience in logistics or shipment of dangerous goods in either a research or manufacturing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player; well organized, flexible, and adaptable
  • Able to prioritize effectively, working to tight deadlines in a busy team environment
  • Diligent with a high attention to detail
  • Customer focussed
  • Good standard of IT literacy (MS Office, web applications)
  • Proactive in own development and shows a willingness to grow within a research organisation
