To support this challenge, Syngenta’s Commercial Team is currently seeking a Customer Marketing Manager in West Des Moines, IA. The Customer Marketing Manager will be accountable for the development and execution of the customer campaigns for a defined Commercial Unit.

Accountabilities

  • The Customer Marketing Manager will lead the development of Commercial Unit Marketing plan consisting of Customer Campaigns.
  • Will work with Product Marketing Indication Heads, Product Marketing Leads, Marketing to Settlement Manager, Sales, and KAM to develop strategies/tactics at the channel and grower level.
  • Develop and lead a Commercial Unit marketing team responsible for developing and executing the service model for Sales and KAM to effectively deliver business results.
  • Develop and lead the Digital Enablement Lead role to implement and execute the digital strategy within the commercial unit
  • Work with Customer Marketing Managers from other Commercial Units, and Marketing Leads to develop aligned processes and timelines for all Marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Work with GTM Lead to ensure campaign alignment and focus on micro-markets and customer segmentation.
  • Manage the processes within the assigned customer marketing team that allows the team to:
  • Create effective customer campaigns within the defined commercial unit.
  • Allocate and manage flexible marketing resources and discretionary resource deployment in coordination with commercial unit head
  • Direct the appropriate use of targeted offers aligned to campaign tactics and commercial unit deliverables
  • Lead the monthly area and demand review processes coordinated with demand planning lead
  • Provide input to the monthly forecast process at the commercial unit level through the MBR process
  • Closely interact with product marketing to translate longer term strategies into effective campaign plans and to ensure products and offers are properly positioned.
  • Work closely with District Managers, Operation Manager, Agronomy Manager and Seedcare Manager to ensure campaign needs and deliverables are met.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Marketing, and/or Finance
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales and/or marketing experience
  • Experience in leading and developing a team of direct reports

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong understanding of seed and crop protection distribution systems
  • Experience in developing and managing an annual budget
  • Deep understanding of agriculture, marketplace dynamics, competitive environment, and Syngenta customer needs
  • Excellent creativity skills coupled with a strong customer focus orientation
  • Excellent communications (i.e., PowerPoint, oral and written), interpersonal, negotiating, analytical, problem solving/decision making, teamwork and planning/organizing skills
