To support that challenge, the Marketing Team is currently seeking a Customer Marketing Manager. In this role you will be accountable for the development and execution of customer campaigns.  The Customer Marketing Manager will take the lead in developing customer campaigns and will work directly with Sales, Key Accounts, Programs, Marketing Operations and other stakeholders to develop strategies/tactics at the grower and channel level. This person will drive the implementation of the customer segmentation strategy through working with stakeholders, prioritization, strategy/tactic development and creating differentiated segment-specific offers

We have a Flexible Work Location approach and this role can be based in Guelph, ON, Calgary, AB or remotely across Canada. 

 What will you do:

  • Work with Customer Engagement, Sales and Marketing Operations to develop aligned processes and timelines for all customer campaigns.
  • Refine and manage the processes within the assigned customer marketing team that allows the team to:

    o   Create effective customer campaigns

    o   Develop differentiated offers for the relevant customer segments

    o   Allocate and manage marketing resources to support the objectives of the campaign

  • Develop a strong working relationship with the sales team to deliver an effective and unified campaign.
  • Manage a department budget and lead department personnel by setting objectives, measuring, recognizing and rewarding performance, coaching and creating priority and focus.  Collaborate with HR in the areas of recruiting, role profiles, performance management, salary management and employee development

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Agriculture or Marketing
  • 5-10 years of sales/marketing experience, preferably in seeds and/or crop protection
  • Passion and deep understanding of agriculture, marketplace dynamics, competitive environment and Syngenta customer needs
  • Excellent creativity skills coupled with a strong customer focus orientation.
  • Excellent communications (i.e., PowerPoint, oral and written), interpersonal, negotiating, analytical, problem solving/decision making, teamwork and planning/organizing skills
  • Understanding and utilization of MaSE methodology
  • Experience working in marketing strategy, building and executing campaign plans and developing compelling offers and tactics
  • Understanding of marketing best practices (segmentation, targeting, journey mapping, etc.)
  • Understanding of the crop protection industry value chain and dynamics
  • Experience leading change management
  • Passion and interest in serving channel partners and farmers, including understanding of their needs and wants
  • Knowledge of sales organization, including understanding their needs, timing, and how to communicate stories and materials effectively for them.
  • Ability to build good relationships and work cross-functionally
  • High-functioning communications skills (both verbal and written); ability to interface with senior leadership
  • Strong grasp of financial metrics and analysis
