  • To deliver professional advice, support and training to management, employees and HSE managers / coordinators / champions to enable all Syngenta functions in Philippines to effectively implement their HSE responsibilities.
  • To effectively assess and communicate actions to Leadership Teams (LTs), and to effectively communicate and implement HSE strategies.
  • To deliver professional advice, support and training on the operational aspects of Syngenta’s HSE strategy and programs within Philippines.
  • To roll out the Syngenta HSE Management System and Solutions packages into Philippines business functions and provide advice and support to enable them to meet Syngenta’s HSE Requirements.
  • To monitor, analyze and report HSE performance each month to Philippines Country LT (CLT) and to the APAC Regional HSE Head.
  • To support the business functions in the identification and assessment of HSE risks and in the delivery of appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • To support the development of Philippines HSE managers/coordinators/ champions.
  • To deliver advice and support to ensure local incident investigations identify true root causes, contain sufficient detail and quality to enable timely validation when first submitted.
  • To conduct assessments, audits and reviews at Syngenta sites and at 3rd Parties according to the agreed audit plans.
  • Ensure road safety for both 4-wheelers and 2-wheelers. Administrative responsibilities for fleet and NFTE (2-wheelers) should remain within their respective administrative functions.
  • To identify and signal to the APAC Regional HSE Head where specialist HSE support is required.
  • As a functional member of the APAC HSE Leadership Team (LT), effectively network across this group while having the ability and experience necessary to work independently and remotely.
  • Lead the Drive for Life (DFL) program in Philippines across all functions.

Qualifications

  • The candidate must be able to work autonomously as well as with all functions within Syngenta Philippines utilizing appropriate influencing skills.
  • He/She must also be able to coordinate functionally with the APAC HSE LT.
  • He/She must have knowledge of the Philippines regulations plus applicable agencies, and be able to support coordination with the agencies, if required.
  • He/She must be able to effectively adapt to changing business needs.
  • 5 years operational experience in Syngenta or within a related industry OR experience of HSE management.
  • Experience of self-learning and then delivering information, instruction and training to a wide range of audiences from shop floor to country management teams.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects
  • Degree in Science, Engineering or related technical subject.
  • Operational knowledge of HSE Management System and a working knowledge of existing and developing relevant HSE legislation.
  • Appropriate national/international qualification in HSE management (e.g. I-NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHAS18001/ ISO14001 Auditor) or a specialist HSE discipline.
  • Project and change management skills and experience.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Concern for standards and ability to defend a position in the event of challenge.
  • Competent and capable of training others in standard HSE processes: incident investigation, risk assessment, identifying and developing appropriate mitigations, auditing, etc.
  • Passion and Energy for HSE
  • Hands on and good in implementation

  • Travel requirements - ca. 25% of the working time
  • Open office environment
